Guatemala Huehuetenango ASOBAGRI

$18.00

Certifications: Organic, Fair Trade, Bird Friendly

Cupping Notes:

This has the chocolate-nutty taste that you would expect, but also comes with creamy sweetness and a hint of orange.  It is really such a nice flavor to find in a coffee. In slightly lighter roasts (medium-not quite to 2nd cracks, for example), you get a little bit of fruity/winey tastes that complement it very nicely. Be careful ordering it at a light roast, as it is likely to taste grassy and vegetal. Darker roasts tend to get thin and bitter. Sweet spot is medium to medium-dark.

Farming notes:

This one is from a co-op called ASOBAGRI which has been in existence for 30 years and teaches farmers sustainable organic growing practices, bird-friendly practices, and provides village farmers with purpose and opportunity. Co-ops such as this help farmers band together, gets them Fair Trade and Organic certifications, and helps them get their coffee to the global market.

Recommended Roast: Medium to dark.

Good For: Pour Over, Full Immersion, and Espresso.
